Swarm Wins Against Broome Nation, Knocks Them Back into Seventh Place by iHak Gaming

Swarm picked up 20.50 points from Alex Smith and 15.50 from Blake Martinez to beat Broome Nation 147.00 to 131.25. With this loss, Broome Nation scored 75.2% of their projected points, and has now failed to meet projections for four weeks running. For Broome Nation, Drew Brees and Will Fuller V played the roles of Maverick and Goose, scoring 22.00 and 15.00 points, respectively. When assigning blame following this loss, Broome Nation can look in the mirror. They started a player with zero points (Andre Ellington). Broome Nation (3-3, 911.25 points) drops to seventh place while Swarm (2-4, 867.75 points) remains mired in eighth place.

Smooth Moves by Swarm

  • Swarm, your competitive drive brought home the victory (with some help from professional athletes). That drive could take you all the way to the Toyota Hall of Fame.
  • Benched Jared Goff, who had the lowest QB score on the team with 7.50 points.
  • Picked up Blake Martinez, who beat his scoring projection by 124.3%, which led the team.
  • Look, there in the sky. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's just Michael Crabtree posterizing opponents. He had the 10th-highest score of any WR in the league this week with 11.00 points.
  • The 9.00 points by Tevin Coleman topped a projected 6.47, extending his overachievement streak to four weeks.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • In Fantasy Football, you win some, you lose some. Not for Toyota Hall of Famers. They mostly just win. But still.
  • All that glitters is not gold. Picked up Elijah McGuire, who scored 2.00 points against his projected 6.56.
  • Drew Brees had two season-lows this week. He scored a season-low 22.00 points and recorded only 55.9% of his 39.34-point projection.
  • Gotta hit rock button before you can start to rise. It was a season-low 1.00 point for Chris Hogan this week. It was also a season-low for his performance versus projections, reaching only 10.7% of a projected point total of 9.36.
  • You've gotta hit rock button before you can start to rise. It was a season-low 4.00 points for Ryan Shazier this week. It was also a season-low for his performance versus projections, reaching only 39.8% of a projected point total of 10.06.

What If

  • If Swarm played Broome Nation every week, they'd be 2-4 this year.
  • Besides Broome Nation, Swarm would have defeated three other teams this week.
  • Had they played each other last week, Swarm would have defeated Broome Nation 163.00 - 124.00.
  • If they played the same schedule as Broome Nation, Swarm would be 1-4.
  • If Swarm had played every team in the league each week, they would be 19-35.
  • Broome Nation would have lost to six other teams besides Swarm this week.
  • If they played the same schedule as Swarm, Broome Nation would be 3-2.
  • If they played every team every week, Broome Nation would be 26-28.

Game Notes

  • In the loss, Logan Ryan scored 7.50 points against a projected 4.03 and has now overachieved in every game this season.
  • The tragedy of being an underachiever is that Swarm knows what they should be, but reality keeps telling them that they're wrong. They scored 147.00 points against a projected 165.02 and underachieved for the fifth time this season, including the last four weeks in a row.
  • Swarm was able to win with little help from Alec Ogletree, who had a season-low 4.00 points and is on a four-week underperforming streak.
  • Not going to name names, but some people here aren't pulling their weight. Forget it, Julio Jones needs to step it up! He scored 7.00 points against a projected 12.09 in the win, and has now scored below his projection in five straight games.
  • Swarm underachieved in the win, improving to 2-3 when failing to reach their projected points this season, while Broome Nation falls to 2-3 when scoring below their projected points.
  • Broome Nation ranked eighth in the league in scoring this week.
  • Swarm won while scoring the fewest total points of any winning team in the league this week.
  • Broome Nation could not close out the win even with the help of Will Fuller V, who scored 15.00 points, the fourth-highest score among all WRs in the league for the week.

Broome Nation Baffles Banditos, Knocks Them Back into Fourth Place by iHak Gaming

Underdog. Schmunderdog. Broome Nation overcame a 33.78-point projected spread, sneaking by Banditos 124.00 to 119.50 for the upset. They picked up a team-leading 21.00 points from Will Fuller V. This was one of the tightest outcomes to date, with the 4.50-point margin of victory being the second-smallest recorded in the league this season. Banditos, coming off a 197.50 to 128.75 win against Barbarians, saw their scoring drop off this week. Both sides missed scoring opportunities as Broome Nation had three starters turn in zero points and Banditos had two. Broome Nation (3-2, 780.00 points) falls to sixth place and Banditos (3-2, 833.00 points) drops to fourth place.

Smooth Moves by Broome Nation

  • Know what's better than winning your matchup vs. Broome Nation? Getting into the Toyota Hall of Fame.
  • Acquired Will Fuller V, who exceeded his scoring projection by 200.4%, the 10th-highest percentage in the league.
  • Logan Ryan has now overachieved in every game this season after scoring 5.00 points against a projected 3.53.
  • Chris Hogan scored 14.00 points, the ninth-highest WR score in the league this week.
  • Jurrell Casey had his highest output of the season with 13.00 points against a projected 6.15 and has now overachieved in three straight games.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • Banditos, you can't win 'em all. But you can't lose 'em all if you wanna be in the Toyota Hall of Fame.
  • Missed out on an opportunity by leaving the 18.00 points scored by Davante Adams on the bench this week. He outperformed his projected point total by 201.5%, the ninth-highest percentage in the league.
  • A heated blanket would be a great gift for Dan Bailey during this cold streak. He scored below his projection in four straight games after scoring 7.00 points against a projected 9.35 this week.
  • The 4.00 points scored by Timmy Jernigan fell short of his 5.58-point projection, the third straight game where that has happened.
  • Banditos tried to fight through 2 of their 19 starters getting zeros, but could not overcome it.

What If

  • If Broome Nation played Banditos every week, they'd be 2-3 this season.
  • Besides Banditos, Broome Nation would have beaten only two other teams this week.
  • Broome Nation would be 2-2 if they played the same schedule as Banditos.
  • If Broome Nation had played every team in the league each week, they would be 24-21.
  • Besides Broome Nation, Banditos would have been defeated by six other teams this week.
  • Timing really is everything. Broome Nation would have lost to Banditos 197.50 - 180.00 had they played each other last week.
  • Banditos would be 3-1 if they played the same schedule as Broome Nation.
  • If they played every team every week, Banditos would be 30-15.

Game Notes

  • Broome Nation won by scoring 124.00 points, the lowest winning score in the league this season.
  • The tragedy of being an underachiever is that Broome Nation knows what they should be, but reality keeps telling them that they're wrong. They scored 124.00 points against a projected 135.36 and underachieved for the fourth time this season, including the last three weeks in a row.
  • Martellus Bennett scored 5.00 points against a projected 7.23 in the win and has now scored below his projection in every game this season.
  • The 4.50-point margin of victory was the slimmest in the league this week.
  • With a combined 37.00 points from their WRs, Broome Nation got their highest combined scoring output from the WR position this season.
  • It was a season-low point total for Banditos.
  • What good are running backs if they are running backwards instead of forwards? The 3.00 total points by the RBs on Banditos was their smallest RB output this season.
  • The loss snapped a three-game win streak by Banditos.

ARE YOU READY FOR A MIRACLE? by iHak Gaming

Cherno alhpa died for this.

I do wonder how they'll justify having the Jaeger program still being active after the rift is closed

Where are they getting entire squadrons of jaegers? In the first movie the biggest nations in the world spent years worth of defense budgets on every single jaeger. How can they just shit them out now?

Boyega is supposed to be Pentecost's son

no del Toro
You can tell from the first one how much love and passion he put into it, from everything from the sets and lighting to the actual way the robots move. This sequel is a cash grab without any of that love, the robots move and look like Ironman suits just scaled up in CGI.

Steven DeKnight is the creator and head writer of Spartacus for Starz

I'm hoping for over the top levels of cheesy fun, but not with Del Toro's level of reverence for the material.

Good to see them making more use of swords this time around.

No Ron pearlman
 - Aw, c'mon. You can't tell me he was too expensive.

This image really illustrates the difference between a passion project by a talented director and a cookie cutter Hollywood cashgrab made by suits.

This image really illustrates the difference between a passion project by a talented director and a cookie cutter Hollywood cashgrab made by suits.

Trailer music was shit.
Also the mechs don't have enough weight to them. Del Torro's direction is sorely missed.
Also why is the protagonist Pentacost's son? That's stupid.
In general, I fear like they just put Pacific Rim through the Hollywood executive meat grinder and this is what came out.

I might watch it, but my expectations are pretty low right now.

Reminder that the original cockpits were full sized sets built on hydraulics so that they could move around.

I don't mind most of the things on the new trailer, new robots, new kaijus, new people, etc, i rather have those unique looks that the other jaegers had, and those pilot suits are terrible, but whatever, at the beginning i didn't like any of the original jaegers designs until the first trailer was released

now, the only thing i believe is hideous is the camera work, I mean, just look at the scene where the kaiju roars and destroys the glass in all buildings, or the scene where all jaegers deploy their weapons at once, int he first movie the robots and kaijus looked massive because the camera was slowly moving or just static, simulating a person really watching something very big happening, like those people filming a tornado, you have to stay far away and still to tape the whole thing, you can also see that same camera work on that 2014 godzilla movie

on those scenes it just look like a video game and somehow the super fast camera jumping all over the place makes the city and robots and everything else look smaller.

It's the same reason why Ghost in the shell did so poorly compared to it's animated predecessor.

They are on par with gen 5, whch make sense.

They are on par with gen 5, whch make sense.

If there is an issue with those designs, it's that they are too much of a copy pasta of Gipsy Danger and the other Jaeger of the previous movie. The first movie had unique design for each Jaeger, the second one is more like "remember the cool designs of the first movie? Well here is more design like this"

Talos's two cents on today's steam stats by iHak Gaming

So I was just checking out steam stats for the hell of it today to see what people were playing. Impressed Talos is impressed. On steam, the most played game at the moment is Dota 2 with over 1 million players, followed by CS:GO with 630k, and then TF2 76k. In comparison with some big title games iHak is accustomed to, CivV has 70k, GTAV 65k, ARK 61k, Garry's Mod 58k (holy shit right?), Fallout 4 52k, Skyrim 48k (wow, I'm not the only one who plays this anymore?), BLOPS3 26k (THERE'S DOUBLE THE PEOPLE PLAYING SKYRIM RIGHT NOW THAN BLOPS3), Terraria 24.9k (THERE'S AS MANY PEOPLE PLAYING TERRARIA AS BLOPS3!!!!!), then if I scroll much lower down the steam stats list R6 Siege 15k (SAME AMOUNT OF PEOPLE PLAYING BORDERLANDS 2!!!)

If we just look at Bethesda big titles:
52k Fallout4
48k The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
4.6k Fallout New Vegas
4k The Elder Scrolls Online

Judging by everything in this list, game developers have to stop whatever it is they're doing now, and do things the way they used to. Not in terms of copying other games, but the process behind designing the games. Don't worry Pat, I know nothing of this game, but I can't imagine Fallout 4 being very different then the other fallout games in terms of mechanics and clearly people like that.

In comparison, from the same developer, they take a (in my opinion) fantastic and at it's time revolutionary game like Skyrim from The Elder Scrolls series that has always been innovative and beautiful, and they got greedy and lazy with it with Elder Scrolls Online and it's quite obviously gone to shit. In my opinion, with ESO they tried way too hard to be something they were not and definitely were not ready to become. I've always dreamed of playing coop or multiplayer Skyrim, but I still play it today because the game doesn't NEED that multiplayer aspect.

<SkyrimRant>
I get so immersed in the gameplay and the game offers me so many opportunities to change the way I choose to do things from one playthough to another that with every character I build myself this awesome story behind each of my characters. There was Fukushusha, the elderly but proud and vengeful Orc that traveled to the land of Skyrim to seek vengeance for his murdered family always charging head first into battle. There was Olivia, the heartless, black-widow Nordic woman who held no friendship or allegiance dear and who killed without a second though. This is a game for me that through every playthough writes its own epic story. From everything to character customization to the beautiful open world, this game is amazing.
</SkyrimRant>

My mind is blown by Garry's Mod being so popular. That game came out 10 years ago guys. It does what it does well. It doesn't try to be anything other than it's self, and people like it for exactly that. I personally never got engrossed in it, but when I played it, I know I had fun. By this list, I think it's safe to say it's the most popular sandbox game in the last 10 years as well as today. That's crazy guys.

Here's the link to the stats page: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ . Did some of those numbers blow your minds too? What are your thoughts about these stats and games now-a-days?

Magnum Opus: The Black on Black by iHak Gaming

Start with the parts

Start with the parts

Everything made to perfection must contain all the right parts.

Here we see the full arrangement of the rig.

Blackwidow Ultimate keyboard (2014)
I really enjoy the feedback from this keyboard. I get the full satisfaction from when I slam down on the keys after trolling hard on youtube or the Facebooks.

H110i GT liquid cooling
I had to custom rig this to the case but it was well worth it. Low noise impact and even during max settings in BF4 or BLOPS III it keeps my cpu running cool. Around 30-35 degrees celsius.

The power supply
is...powerful. Not much to say here. It's a power supply. Nothing ever exciting happens here. They're the goalie of the computer. They show up but no one cares. Sometimes if they don't (show up) no one even notices.

X99-a
Continuing my asus mobo trends I beef up this rig with the mighty x99-a. Lots of slots. So many memory slots. Very clean looking board and comes with great software for controls (such as fan and cpu). It will make tweaking that much easier later on.

G.Skill Ripjaw (16gb)
You can never have too much ram. I think. Editing/rendering is so much smoother as I have now doubled my ram's memory in my old build.

i7 5820k
She runs so elegantly. No issues so far with this cpu. Runs everything so well. Will report later on OC.

SSD
Everything loads super fast. This is a staple.

G502
Sleek and very cybernetic looking. I love the feel of this mouse. Easily changable dpi settings (compared to the 400 series) and it fits my hand so well.

GTX 970
I'm not running a monitor over 1080 so I didn't need to go further, but I am waiting for a price drop so I can sli this mother.

HAFX
And of course my huge as fuck case. Which has plenty of room and looks so badass (see photos below)

Figuring out how to mod the case to fit the liquid cooler

‘Borderlands’ Videogame Movie in the Works? by iHak Gaming

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/borderlands-videogame-movie-lionsgate-1201580303/

“The ‘Borderlands’ games don’t pull any punches, and we’ll make the movie with the same in-your-face attitude that has made the series a blockbuster mega-franchise.”

So this could be a good thing. Especially if we see a third Borderlands game. Going back to the movie so many questions arise from this...such as: what game will it feature? Will racist Tiny Tina be cut (better not)? Will it be live action like Prince of Persia? Casting (this is always an interesting one)? And also how will they film it (from an fps view)?

I hope they don't mess up the boss' introductions:

Red and Belly sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S... wait, that's weird.

I really enjoy those intro cut scenes. I'm a little excited and even more so coming after seeing the new AC (assassin's Creed kit)

Fassbender, who I think was fantastic in; x-men, Prometheus, Haywire (which was a disappointing movie but he was good) and 300, is looking like an excellent choice for this. And hopefully it franchises.

Sad news from the Ark by Jeremy King

It is with a heavy heart and watery eyes I bring the following news. During a recent resource gathering excursion our party was attacked by two mid-level raptors, a scorpion, and a level 108 Alpha Raptor. Our troops fought valiantly to protect our lives and the lives of their comrades but couldn't overcome the buffs provided by the Alpha Raptor to the enemy troops. Several long time and key members of Tribe Called Quest's roster have fallen in the line of duty. I would like to recognize the following brave dinos: Rex Maclin, Yarpie v3?, Truckasaurus, Stompy, It's A Bird, and Kate. Also felled during the battle were the newest members of the tribe RappyTheRapper (a level 9 Raptor) and White She-Devil (A level 13 rare albino T-Rex). The human members of the tribe have fallen back (respawned) to the safety of the bunker to mourn.

We will recover. We will rebuild. We will avenge your deaths across the lands both far and wide.

RIP and our hearts dino friends.

Week of Death - Day 2 Recap by iHak Gaming

A Rouge Nation of sorts

What started off as peaceful morning into deep space quickly turned into chaos.

I could have gone flying through space - forever.

I could have gone flying through space - forever.

It turns out the infection from a day prior still lingers. Flight Engineer Talos became sick with rage. The red light of hate burned bright within him.

From the eyes of the devil.

From the eyes of the devil.

Distancing his ship from ours was the first sign of his madness.

An epic showdown for the ages. Reklamer posts all-time career high in kills, assists and alimony payments. Talos showed us again why he is the top paid combatant. And Fancy showed up. (in the back).

Big game. Big kills. Be sure to look for the replay on the Onion Sports Dome.

Basic start to the day. Wake up and f̶a̶p̶ (make content). We started with some classic L4D2.

Oh Shiiit!

We had some good times and some crappy times. [<- someone was fired for that] Then everyone began to get hungry. Now before I go into detail about what happened I need to explain something. When you're down THERE. Down in the trenches. It changes you. Makes you different. Makes you like THEM. Your sense of smell. Your taste. Even the way you god damn see. It's like this....this hunger. It must be quenched.

Normally food takes care of that but we didn't have food. Or the time to acquire it.

So well...this happened (viewer discretion should be advised...but it's not)

This week in gaming - Back at Hardline (8/2/15) by Jeremy King

Friday I played some BFH (Battlefield Hardline), which I haven't played in about in a month or two. I had a great time but after playing, but unfortunatly my keys are not setup the same as BF4. After pumping so many hours into 4 I maybe forgot to switch my medkit and defibs gadget keys. So the result is the above video for the entire night. I do not have time to learn from my mistakes.

Anyway,
Enjoy.

Thoughts on Ark: Survival Evolved by Jeremy King

Imagine for a minute that you and a friend are standing on a beautiful beach surrounded by palm trees swaying in the breeze. The two of you are casually gathering fresh berries from the foliage while chatting about nothing of any importance when your friend suddenly shouts, "Fuck! Run dude, there's a pack of raptors coming down the beach and they're moving fast!" And there you have a day in the life of Ark:Survival Evolved.

Just released as an alpha preview last week on Steam, Ark is the newest in a long line of survival games. But instead of fighting, or trying to avoid, the typical zombie you're on the look out for flesh eating dinosaurs. You gather resources such as wood, thatch, stone, flint, metal, berries, and dino poops to build your means for survival. Along the way your character levels up allowing you to allocate points to your health, stamina, hunger, fortitude, etc. (I suggest you get quite a bit of stamina, you don't want to run out of breath while trying to escape from some hungry Dilophosaurus'.) Every time you level up you also earn Engram points which you can use to learn new things to craft such as flooring, walls, and roofs for shelter. All of your tools are learned through Engram points as well so you're going to want to think about how you delegate these points. If you've joined/created a tribe its easier to have each tribe member learn different things so Engram points are used to the maximum value.

Along the way you can use non-lethal means to bring down a dino and then nurse it back to life with food and once revived he will be your tamed pet used to ride and carry your supplies. Currently there are 28 creatures in the game with a total of 47 currently confirmed. If you've ever played Minecraft and thought to yourself, "One more block. One more block and then I'll exit the game and go to bed." you'll be familiar with the resource gathering in this game. "I'll just chop down one more tree for the wood and then I'm done. Its 3 am and I have stuff to do tomorrow so one more tree." Two hours and 126 trees later and you still have to force yourself to shut it down and get some sleep.

System requirements are on par with most current games although optimization is not in the game yet. Running most settings on high I get an fps of about 25. That's with two GTX 780s in an SLI configuration. A tribe member found some .ini configurations post on reddit and was able to get about 40 fps with a mix of epic and low settings. I'll test these settings at a later date.

Overall I would recommend this game and I'd recommend getting in now while its only $25 USD. I'd imagine its going to be higher once it hits final release. It just came out and it runs and plays better than DayZ SA which has been out for over a year. - King4ID

The Return Of Gun Master by Jeremy King

If you don't follow Battlefield then you won't know that the Gun Master game mode has made a return to Battlefield 4. I had actually forgotten about it as well until I noticed it in my server browser and decided to give it a shot. The premise is pretty simple; everybody starts with the same weapon and every two kills with that weapon and you move on to the next preset weapon until you reach the final weapon. DICE decided to let server owners set their own presets if they wish so you end up with some pretty interesting weapon progressions. One such progression was one call Troll mode. I'm a huge fan of trolling so I immediately knew I would like this preset and it didn't disappoint.

The map we got to play this Troll mode on was Operation Lockers, which normally I detest but worked out perfectly for this mode. The starting weapon was the ballistic shield, then the Phantom bow, the Hawk 12G shotgun, lots of weapons I don't recall, and ending with the defib paddles. I decided well before the round started that it would be easy to get knife kills on people using ballistic shields so I went with a knife only round, to fulfill the calling of Troll mode. I obviously didn't win the round but I did end up getting the most knife kills and still ended the match with a positive score so I was happy. The anger with my methods on display in the chat contributed to my happiness. Overall I think any new mode is a welcome addition to a game that has been around for quite a while and has the possibility of getting stale and passed over for newer games. Happy to still be playing Battlefield. - King4ID

This weekend was the last of the double xp week. The game that has such potential to be so great was true to glitch-ie form.
